Our Story

It all began with family... and the tradition continued for nearly 50 years!

The purchase of the orchard - now known as Lindsey's Orchard and Farm located at 267 Sugar Hill Road in Rexford - began our family's involvement in the Clifton Park community. We opened the first local "Pick-Your-Own" orchard in 1971! We've loved seeing you each and every fall to continue the yearly tradition of picking your own fresh apples.  One of the great delights of the harvest season is picking your own apple, standing on a ladder and reaching for that perfect fruit. There is nothing quite like the taste as you bite into a fresh picked apple. The juice. The crunch. It's all part of the joys of fall.

Baldwin, Golden Russet, and Winter Banana trees are still producing apples from that original orchard. And we added many varieties since, including the ever popular Honey Crisp, Gala, and Macoun.  A small seasonal farm store was located at the orchard site, selling pre-picked apples, apple cider, apple cider donuts, honey, and other autumn favorites.

A second store location was opened on October 6, 1988. Lindsey's Country Store & Sweet Shoppe began humbly as a seasonal apple stand on Route 9 in Clifton Park, New York. Soon our signature muffin recipes were created and customers clamored for more! The store grew, our custom muffin baskets took shape, and eventually over 50 flavors of muffins were baked fresh everyday in our kitchen.  Additionally many baked goods and over 30 flavors of pies were offered.  February 2015 marked the beginning of the addition of The Sweet Shoppe.

Lindsey's Country Store & Sweet Shoppe was open year round, offering muffin baskets, fine chocolates and candies, pastry platters, pies, baked goods, apple cider donuts, and apple cider. Gift items such as candles, greeting cards, seasonal decor, jewelry and more were found in the store and many could be added to any custom gift baskets. We worked with personal and corporate accounts, hand delivered locally, and shipped within the continental United States.

This generation of Lindseys have now retired in order to spend more time with our growing families. The Orchard and Farm closed after the 2018 season, and the Country Store and Sweet Shoppe closed its doors on January 9th, 2019.

Thank you for joining in the tradition. We'll miss you!
